Hi everyone! This is going to be a super short post.
Basically, because of Hurricane Irene, I have been without power since Saturday. Our basement flooded tremendously (like, water to the top of the toilet bowl!). I've been going to my family's houses to shower. I haven't even been back to work because my job is downtown and it was 8ft underwater!
Hopefully we get up and running soon.
And to everyone else who has been affected by Hurricane Irene even worse than us, my prayers are with you. Stay safe!!

China Glaze Electric Pineapple
Saturday, August 27, 2011 @ 11:54 AM
Good morning all!
Today I want to show you a gorgeous yellow/green/I-don't-know-what-color-category-it-falls-under-color from China Glaze. Electric Pineapple is from their Island Escape collection. I'm not a huge fan of yellows in general; I just don't think they flatter me at all, but this color I had to have because it is very unique IMO. I like to call it yellow with a twist. It's not streaky like others I've tried and it has a gorgeous creamy finish.
This was 2 coats, unheard of for me with yellows, and no bald spots either. The formula on this is really great making application a breeze.

This collection features 4 polish/varnish (I say polish, they say varnish) colors in deep green, brown, purple and red. They are said to have a "rubber look" to them. What that means, I'm not sure. Rubber look finish?

Aren't they beauties?? All you have to do is go HERE and put in your name and email address and !voila! you're entered!
Good luck! ;)

Born Pretty Store Free Giveaway!
@ 8:07 AM
I'm not sure how many of you have heard of this online store called Born Pretty Store, but I've read about them on many blogs for a few months now. They are based out of China and sell lots of nail items (polish, stamping plates, rhinestones, etc...) as well as makeup and a bunch of things you never thought of needing but definitely do! I have bought a couple of stamping plates as well as a double-sided stamper from them, and though I need to get the hang of stamping all together, the quality of the products are good! Their prices are great and best of all, their shipping is FREE INTERNATIONALLY! So it doesn't matter where you live, they ship for free!
They are having a Facebook Promo for a free Hello Kitty or Chanel Logo Stickers.
I have won one of their Facebook promos before for the same thing, and I gotta say, I really liked it! I got the HK stickers, and though I'm not a big HK fan, the bows and hearts stickers that came with it were cute! I haven't used them yet, but when I do, I will definitely swatch and post!
Go check out their promo HERE

Hurricane Irene
@ 2:30 PM
Just a quick post.
Please, everyone along the east coast (USA), be safe during the hurricane this weekend. I'm here in Jersey and there are mandatory evacuations going on like crazy. Please fill up your car with gas, get your candles and matches in order, and stock up on your water and non-perishable foods (dont forget items for your pets too!). It never hurts to be safe!!

Too Faced Smokey Eye Collection Promo
Thursday, August 25, 2011 @ 10:34 AM
Hi all! So Too Faced is having a great promo! Exclusive to their website, they're offering a 6-piece Fall Makeup set, PLUS you get FREE SHIPPING (no minimum) with code "SMOKEYSET11". I love Too Faced, I think I own just about 85% of their items, but I have yet to score any of their fall line - this is a great offer!
You should totally check out their site, they've just recently revamped it a bit, so I haven't really got a chance to play with it yet, but it's definitely more user friendly now.

jess

China Glaze Fairy Dust
@ 8:33 PM
I love LOVE China Glaze.
Fun tidbit - when I first really got into nail polish and learning about what brands are better for your nails, have good formula, etc... - China Glaze kept popping up everywhere I looked. I had never heard of them before, but the shades I were seeing were gorg!
So I actually went on ebay to buy some mini bottles so I could test them first before I bought full sized ones. I lucked out and won a lot of 16 mini CG's on ebay for $11.00 free shipping! Love. I. Fell. In. Love. I was really impressed that their quality was up to par with O.P.I. and Essie, but their prices were less.
Anyways, I don't have any of the mini's for you today, BUT I do have Fairy Dust. This is a beautiful clear polish chock full of mini iridescent glitter. I wouldn't wear this alone because I prefer opaque polishes, but for swatching purposes I wore it alone so you could see the glitter-fest in all its glory.
A little shaky so you can see the glitter in natural light.
These were all in natural light, 2 coats and no top coat. The formula is a bit on the thick side, not untamed thick, but enough where you could easily gloop it on without realizing. I would suggest, if using Fairy Dust to layer over another color, to only put one thin coat. Use 2 coats, and you lose alot of the wow-factor of the base color.

Barielle - Coalest Day of the Year
Tuesday, August 23, 2011 @ 6:49 PM
Hey guys! Sorry I've been M.I.A. for a few days. My brother just moved back to town this weekend and I spent half of Saturday cleaning and helping him unpack. Did anyone ever tell you what Soft Scrub can do to your nails?!? Yikess..
Anyways, I thought I would swatch a nice dark color to hide my horrendous nails...at least for a day or two.
I have here Barielle's Coalest Day of the Year. Barielle describes this as a carbon gray with white pearls. I describe it as, "ooh la la!" This color is so pretty and application is a cinch.
Please forgive me for the pieces of cotton hanging off the tips of my fingers! I was in a hurry to remove my last color so my nails could hide under this lovely!
Natural sunlight.
See the shimmer in the bottle?? So pretty!
Overall this is such a beautiful color. I used 2 coats for these pictures, no top coat.
So what d'ya think?
XoXo,
Jess

Savina Fantasia
Friday, August 19, 2011 @ 2:02 PM
Ok, so taking pictures for this post really makes me realize how I need to not buy cameras advertised through Amazon's Goldbox deal of the day. Sureee, great price, but umm, it can't even focus properly??
Anyways, my current nail color is Savina-Fantasia. I had purchased this color, with a few others, through a blog swap from Trace Face. I had never heard of this brand before, but when I googled swatches for it, I knew I had to get it!

First Swatch coming soon!
@ 8:30 AM
Good morning, guys!!
So last night, I made my first post - just a welcome post, no swatch. I had had on my mani since Monday night, and I didn't want that to be my first swatch because it wasn't as fresh as a day old one! So I get to removing my polish and looking at my collection. I really didn't know what color to use as my first!
I love LOVE China Glaze, so I thought I would start off with one of them, but I just couldn't figure out which one! So I opted out of China Glaze. Then my eyes got affixed to a bottle I had bought in a blog sale a few weeks back...I had yet to use it....so dun! dun! dun! That's the one I chose.
By the time I was all done, it was about 10 at night, my fiance was watching UFC and I was just super tired from my long day. So I thought to myself, "SELF, I will swatch first thing in the morning."
Well here I am now, turns out my camera is D.E.A.D. Perfect! So sorry!!
I'm charging the lil bugger now, so hopefully I can get some pictures up soon! (Oh, and it doesn't help I don't have much natural light-it's all raining and depressing outside).
So I'll do my best to get some pics to you soon! Plus, I have to figure out how to add pics here! Remember, I'm a total nube LOL
XOXO,
Jess
