Hi everyone! I have a new mani today. I had to take the Jinx polish strips off (see post HERE). After 1 day they chipped so bad that it looked horrendous! So if you do go out and get them, I would suggest using them for a special night out, but not for a weekend getaway!

On a side note...I'm involved in a Secret Santa and so I have pledged to myself that, from now until December 1,  I will TRY to not buy anymore polish for myself so that my Secret Santa won't have trouble finding me a gift! So this goes into effect today. P.S. Zoya is having a BOGO sale through midnight tonight EST and so I got 4 polishes, but that was last night so it doesn't count! tee hee hee).

So anywayssss! I'm going through some of the polish that I haven't tried yet that I have recently purchased. Today's mani is Revlon Royal Cloak. This color is from their Masquerade LE 2011 Collection. It's a grape purple with flakie looking glitter.

Yes, yes. I've joined the other end of the social media spectrum. I know for me, working 9-5 and then classes at night, it's difficult to stay up-to-date with new blogger's posts and such. For the most part, Facebook and Twitter are easily accessible on cell phones these days (so is Blogger, but not as easy for me to maneuver on my phone).

I thought I would try to make things more simple for you all. So here it is. Dun! Dun! Dunnnnn!!!!!!

Hi everyone!  Today I'm going to show you my first experience using nail strips.  I've always wanted to try them since they came out but the only ones I have come across in stores are the Sally Hansen nail strips, and at over $9 a pop, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I have heard from a few people that Five Below (where I buy my Funky Fingers polishes) started selling nail strips for $3, so last night I decided to take a trip there. Sure enough, there they were, a brand called Jinx.  12 polish strips in each package for $3. I decided to pick up 2 packs and headed home.

I decided, instead of just showing you the final product, that I would show you the steps it took to get me there.

Package contained 12 nail strips, a mini file, cuticle stick and a silver paper that I didn't use.

Step 1. Peel clear film off from top of strips then apply correct sized strips to nails.

Step 2. Apply nail strip, smooth out and bubbles and fold excess over nails.

Step 3. File in downwards motion to remove excess.

Final Product.

From start to finish, this whole process took about 15 minutes and I think it was fairly simple, especially for first time users like myself.  The strips themselves were easy to maneuver and reposition on the nail if need be.  Smoothing out air bubbles was simple too.

I do have 2 gripes. Disappointment #1. The package only contained 12 strips, so there's less of a chance of them fitting you correctly.  If you look at my thumb in the last picture, you can see that the strip doesn't cover the nail completely. Disappointment #2. The smell. It reminds me of halloween masks. You know, the one's that you completely slip over your head, so the only air you're breathing is from inside the latex mask. Bleghh. But it's because of the latex-like material of the strip that it makes positioning on the nail easier and more flexible (gotta take the good with the bad I suppose).

All in all, for only $3, I think these strips are the way to go for me.  As far as how well it wears, we'll see. It's only been a few hours so far.

Hi everyone! So if you missed my post/review of Butter London Macbeth, you can check it out HERE. I have the same polish today, but added a little zest to it...Island Girl polishes.

These are 2 of the many Island Girl polishes my brother brought back for me from his Las Vegas trip.  I had never heard of this brand before, but ironically, one of the girls from my Facebook has posted about which polishes to get from Vegas, and Island Girl came up.  So I immediately googled them and saw they had such pretty colors, so I asked my brother if he could bring me some back, and boy did he ever!

So the two colors I am going to show you are Mahalo Dream and Big Wave.  Mahalo Dream is a sheer red jelly base with iridescent glitter and flakies.  Big Wave is a clear jelly base with red and pink heart-shaped glitter.

1 coat of Mahalo Dream on all nails.

1 coat of Big Wave as an accent nail on my ring finger.
